Security

The Civil Aviation Security Department of the DCA is responsible for the development of national security strategies and the supervision of the security measures put in place by the air operators, airport operator and all other entities implementing aviation security standards in Luxembourg.

 

The Department's tasks include, amongst others, the following:

  • developpment and maintenance of the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP);
  • developpement and maintenance of the National Quality Control Programme (NCQP);
  • approval of security programmes of Community air carriers, the airport operator, aerodromes, heliports and all other entities implementing aviation security standards;
  • approval of security training programmes of Community air carriers, the airport operator, aerodromes, heliports and all other entities implementing aviation security standards;       
  • assessment of security programmes of foreign air carriers operating to and from Luxembourg airport;
  • certification of the airport security control agents;
  • approval of regulated agents, regulated suppliers and known consignors;
  • supervision and monitoring of the compliance of the security measures applied by the airport operator, air operators and all other entities implementing aviation security standards;
  • designation of air carriers as ACC3;
  • analysis of ACC3 exemption requests;
  • approval of EU aviation security validators;
  • provision of specific AVSEC training.
