Passengers' rights in the event of denied boarding and cancellation or long delay of a flight


In the field of air transport, the European Union has put in place enhanced protection offered to air passengers in the event of denied boarding, cancellation of flight or long delay.

Since the entry into force of Regulation N° 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 February 2004, and according to the conditions listed in said regulation, passengers can be compensated in the event of late cancellation or else receive assistance in cases of significant delays.

In Luxembourg, complaints related to denied boarding, cancellations or long delays should be sent to the Ministry of Consumer Protection using a complaint form to be completed.
