How to report?

Aviation professionals

Aviation professionals are required to report to their employer, in the format determined by the latter and within 72 hours of the event. As part of its safety management system (SMS), the employer must ensure the collection and monitor event reports as well as their transmission to the DAC in a determined format.

In exceptional cases, the aviationreporting.eu portal can be used by professionals wishing to contact the DAC directly.

Private pilots and private persons

Private pilots and other private individuals can report directly to the DAC as explained below.

For pilots of light aircraft, including glider and balloon pilots, certain types of events must be reported within 72 hours. The list of these events can be found in Annex V of EU Implementing Regulation 2015/1018.

Reports entry website aviationreporting.eu

This website allows to submit voluntary notifications as well as to fulfill notification obligations.

Important notice: An additional notification obligation, which is not covered by this website, exists for accidents and serious incidents. These must be notified without delay to the security investigation authority of the State where the accident or serious incident took place (if the place is unknown or does not belong to any State, e.g. . on the high seas, it should be addressed to the State of registry of the aircraft). In Luxembourg, the security investigation authority is the Administration of technical investigations

Treatment of personal data

The name, telephone number and e-mail address of the notifier are requested by the website after the completion of the report. These data (which can be omitted) are not part of the report and, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 376/2014, are not entered into the database. These data allow the DAC to contact the notifier for feedback and / or to request any additional information.

It is strongly recommended that no names or personal data be cited in the report itself.
