Obstacle Clearance

The DAC is the competent authority to examine requests for obstructions to air navigation as well as to pronounce, if necessary, security measures intended to guarantee specific aviation requirements.

The term "obstacle to air navigation" means: all or part of a fixed (temporary or permanent) or mobile natural or artificial object:

  • which is located on an area intended for the circulation of aircraft on the surface; or
  • which protrudes above a defined surface intended to protect aircraft in flight; or
  • which is outside such a surface but which is considered to be a danger to air navigation.
