Temporary ban of drone flights – 28 - 30 September 2026

As part of the security measures related to an official visit, drone operations are prohibited on the dates specified and within the areas indicated below, unless prior authorization has been granted by the Grand Ducal Police. 

  1. From 28 Septembre 16:00 until 30 Septembre 19:00
    • Zone EL-UAS-S24 (Ville-Haute)
  2.  From 29 Septembre 12:00 until 20:30
    • Zone EL-UAS-S22 (European Convention Center)
    • Zone EL-UAS-S23 (Glacis)
  3.  From 30 Septembre 06:00 until 14:00
    • Zone EL-UAS-S26 (Esch-Belval)
  4.  From 30 Septembre 09:00 until 17:00
    • Zone EL-UAS-S20 (Bourglinster)

 

 

This ban does not apply to the following specific operations carried out in the public interest:

  1. military, police and customs missions,
  2. traffic surveillance and pursuits,
  3. search and rescue,
  4. medical flights,
  5. evacuations,
  6. firefighting.

 

As stated in our communication of 11 September 2026, these new zones are activated at the request of the Grand Ducal Police.

Furthermore, as of 30 September, the EL-UAS-S18 (SES) zone will be expanded to a radius of 1 km, while maintaining the current access conditions.
